Staff DevOps Engineer at CloudNine Systems
EmployMeNot Verdict: Elevated Risk of Meetings
“Looking for an infrastructure visionary to drive our cloud modernization journey.”
“You will spend 80% of your time writing YAML indentations and explaining to devs why port 80 is already in use.”
Job Overview
CloudNine Systems is hiring a Staff DevOps Engineer to manage 42 interconnected Kubernetes clusters and 8,000 lines of nested YAML templates. If you love waking up to PagerDuty alerts for false positive memory spikes, this is your dream role.
Responsibilities
- Maintain multi-region Kubernetes infrastructure and automate zero-downtime deployment pipelines.
- Manage cloud cost governance while developers casually spin up 64-core GPU instances for local testing.
- Refactor Terraform modules that everyone is afraid to touch because the original author left the company in 2021.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with a team that has convinced itself that sleeping through alerts is an art form.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes container orchestration, service meshes, and cloud networking.
- Production experience with Terraform, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux), and multi-cloud observability stacks.
- High emotional tolerance for reading 400-page CloudWatch and Datadog logs.
Benefits & Perks
- 100% remote working flexibility from anywhere in the European Union.
- €3,000 home office setup allowance + €1,500 annual learning stipend.
- 30 days paid vacation per year (which you can actually take without guilt).
- Company-paid noise-canceling headphones for drowning out on-call anxiety.
Interview Process Expectation
*Satirical projection based on modern corporate hiring rituals. Actual process set by employer.
